The performance
Falstaff is an old and carefree puppeteer who, short on money, comes up with tricks and schemes to get by. His puppets and marionettes, along with the children in the audience, laugh and have fun at his clumsy deceptions — and help him make things right again.
We are drawn into a timeless world, populated by masks, puppets, and marionettes, evoking the imagery of bygone days with the vividness of the present. A world where everything is a prank!
Educational Focus
The preparatory training session for teachers will provide tools to develop multisensory activities, engaging several learning domains typically addressed in preschool: the five senses, spatial awareness, motor coordination, fine motor skills, active listening, and attention development through music and play.
This adaptation uses a play-within-a-play structure to highlight Shakespeare’s original dramaturgy and the creative roles of the authors, drawing inspiration from commedia dell’arte and the art of puppetry. The main themes include play and humor, but also awareness and self-determination — especially for female characters.
