The format

Orchestra in gioco

The format

The project is committed to spreading the passion for symphonic music amongst teens: our intention is to set in motion the interest and curiosity of every kind of audience, from those already experts to those who for the first time approach the world of music. We offer the opportunity to listen to live orchestras from the national and international panorama, and when possible to create a brand new piece during the music composition workshop with a small orchestra of young talents.

Orchestra in gioco was conceived for the secondary schools of I and II grades. Compulsory education assumes in this way a concrete role in the cultural and musical education of tomorrow’s audience. Our mission is to make teens familiar with music and especially with symphonic music, transforming them in active participants and not simply spectators; providing teachers with the right instruments to teach music even if they do not have professional music competence; and ensure that the music experience becomes an integral part of the students’ life.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

We propose a didactic class session before the concert, to give basic notions about the composers’ life and the most curious anecdotes of the pieces, moreover it comprehends a guide to the listening of the most significant pages. After the concerts, all the classes are invited to have a debate and share their considerations. The workshop curated by the composer and orchestra director Giuseppe Califano is proposed in four modules in which you will learn how to use the instruments with which every composer gave life to masterpieces, and recognise the numerous and precious communicative dimensions of the language of sounds.

CURATOR’S NOTES

A journey across absolute music, just to discover that an orchestra always tells a story, always safeguards an invisible stage where characters, dreams, desires and hopes alternate each other’s.

PERFORMANCES

Performances last 90 minutes, concerts are hosted in auditorium and theatrical spaces suitable for live music shows.

The project can be associated with every kind of symphonic and concert season.
