OPERA CRIME

Music by Enrico Melozzi

Inspired by Rigoletto by Verdi

Recommended to an audience between the ages of 14 and 30

3 singers, 1 live musician

NEW IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE OF MUSIC THEATRE: the audience is free to move in the scene and interact with an app that allows each spectator to determine the final end of the story.

It seemed a repeated performance as all the others, but that night the characters turned against their author giving birth to a new opera and new music. Who did kill Gilda? The audience will discover it and decide the final end of an interactive music performance, unique it its genre.

MUSIC. The music of this performance starts with Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi, and then it becomes a sort of contemporary language, even electronic but with strong roots in the opera tradition. A music transfiguration which is parallel to Verdi’s world, different languages get along as never before. Poetic moments will be more approachable to the pure neoclassic lyric singing, while the interaction of the audience will have a modern music approach, similar to Netflix. During interactive – explorative and investigative moments, time stops allowing the audience to go inside the scene, walk around still actors, notice hidden details and even take pictures with their mobile phones. The performance has alternative final endings that the audience itself has contributed to reconstruct, giving life to an experience really interactive between the spectators and the opera. By voting, each member of the audience will decide who the culprit is and create, in this way, the final scene of the performance.

NATIONAL OPENING NIGHT @Teatro sociale, Como 21st of February 2020
