Educational program

APPLY ONLINE TO TAKE PART TO THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM.

 The procedure applied by Opera domani - which for more than twenty years has been promoting the passion for lyric opera -  is based on the skills and the experience of an interdisciplinary team that draws inspiration from Carlo Delfrati, a music teacher and innovator inside and outside the school system.

At the heart of Opera domani lies the education and the preparation of the audience in the comprehension of the opera in its marvellous complexity. Therefore, it is clear that teachers and educators are the key to success of this ambitious mission.

During the months before the show, the trainers of the project meet teachers all around Italy in order to provide them with the right instruments to work in class with the students in view of the participation to the opera in the theatre.

The educational program incudes three meetings:

I MODULE Music Education: description of the didactic materials of the project (libretto, cd, and pamphlet), introduction to the opera, plot and main characters; analysis of the poetic libretto; listening of the pieces useful to comprehend the opera; didactic proposals of the project (activities, construction of the props), additional didactic proposals (interdisciplinary and multimedia connections, videos, arias, games and methodological insights for activities in class); reference to sources and didactic materials online.

II MODULE Choir: description of the choirs (number, level of complexity); technical -vocal and musical analysis of the songs; teaching of the basic singing techniques, music reading; listening and singing of the pieces, didactic proposals for choirs, additional recreational and educational activities and other methodological insights for preparatory activities in class.

III MODULE Theatre and cultural expression: framing of the Lyric Opera (useful insights for the spectator), in-depth analysis of the actor’s job (drama, conflict, intention); description of the plot and the characters, connection with cross-cutting themes and recreational proposals linked with the routine of the students, preparatory exercises about listening, feelings, empathy and conflicts; additional interdisciplinary proposals (interdisciplinary connections, videos, arias, games, and other methodological insights for in class activities); references to the sources and online didactic material in institutional websites.

*the III MODULE will be available only in cities such as Bolzano, Milan; Naples, Parma, Ravenna, Reggio Emilia, Rome, Trento and Vicenza.

 AsLiCo is a qualified entity for the training of school personnel.

The educational path of Opera Domani is accredited by the Ministry of Education. In order to receive the nominal certificate of attendance it will be necessary – at the end of the training -  to fill in the questionnaire of tutoring and evaluation. The questionnaire, which comprehends also questions about the content of the educational training, will be sent to the email contact you gave at the moment of your subscription.
